Sunday, June 23, 2013 Davidoff Snake Pen Limited edition 2013 This is one of my pride and joy as I was lucky to be involved in the design and development of the Davidoff fountain pen limited edition by combining the technology of the ink flow from Germany and the art of Eastern snake engraving from Asia.

Parker 51 (1948) Blue Diamond clip & Sterling Silver cap set

Image
Old blog from the 2014  Thursday, December 25, 2014 I was lucky to find a special set in very nice condition.  This is a 1948 Parker 51 Pen and Pencil Set with silver caps. Some of the neat things about this set:  ·      It has Sterling Silver Caps.  The imprint shows in the pictures, they are in good shape. ·       It was made in the last quarter of 1948.  (See the picture with the tiny 8 on the barrel.)  This makes it one of the last 51 Vacumatics made, from ‘49’ on, the 51’s were aerometric. ·       A fine nib leaning toward medium.. ·       A Blue Diamond clip even though this clip was discontinued in 1947, some were left over and used in 1948.  This  was the last year “Parker” was written on the clip. ·       Gold wash on the clutch

Parker Black Giant fountain pen (June 2023)

Image
I have just joined a new Facebook group on Fountain Pens collecting and it has motivated me to start refining my pen collections again. This is my latest find a Parker Black Giant: iconic oversize black hard rubber eyedropper-filler, 15.5 cm long, full length model with clip. This is my first vintage fpuntain pen for 2023. The last vintage fountain pens were found in December 2022.  Parker’s first Giant,” the “Red Giant,” introduced in 1909 at US$10. The Big red giant failed because the cap was too brittle and Parker was losing too much money honoring their warrantees. This was less of a problem with the “Black Giant,” introduced soon afterwards.    The Parker Giant pen is an eyedropper filler made in hard rubber, furnished with a slip cap and joint threaded section, and very approximate measurements of 15.5 cm long capped with a diameter cap 19 mm. It has both Red and Black. The Parker Giants is not made as a self-filler owing to its extraordinary ink carrying capacity and infrequent

Waterman #58 Ripple fountain pen (Dec 2022)

Image
The Waterman #58 is the second largest Waterman Fountain pen. I have found a Black Waterman #58 several years back. I have managed to find another Waterman #58 in the nice ripple design from a Hong Kong collector who has migrated overseas. This pen was sold by his relative .  A Waterman 58 is a grail pen for many collectors.   It can be had in black, ripple or in red cardinal ebonite.   Although very big, this model is a great writer.  This pen must have been used very little as it does not show any damage nor signs of time. The arches of the ripple ebonite are very defined, the color is shiny and fresh and there is no brassing, the imprints are crisp.  The pen is fitted with its original Waterman Nr. 8 nib which is fine and rigid. I have managed to get this Waterman #58 together with the Mandarin Yellow! I have missed out a Montblanc L139 as my cash was tight ... I guess you you win some and you lose some... Its ok... Just be happy with what I have.Hoping to find a Waterman 20 in the

Parker Duofold Mandarin yellow Fountain Pen (Dec 2022)

Image
This is a Parker Duofold mandarin yellow senior.  The mandarin yellow Duofold is one of the rarest among the Duofold.  This is the yellow version of the  Duofold and It is difficult to find in good condition as the material is very fragile. Most of the Mandarin have a crack or two at the cap lip, which clearly decrease the value of the pen. The yellow color can also be discolored, tarnished. I read from the web site that the Junior size version was used by the famous writer Colette. This color was less sold than the others and this also explains why this pen is quite rare today. There are also black, blue and Orange red versions. I have managed to find this Mandarin Yellow in Hong Kong as the seller inherited these pens from her uncle who has migrated overseas. I have not bought vintage fountain pens for many years and I am glad that I have found this Duofold in Mandarin yellow! Nice Christmas present! PenHero 365: Parker Duofold Mandarin Yellow
