Parker 75 Regency fountain pen (21 July 2024)

Parker 75 Regency fountain pen, more commonly known as the "Rainbow" 75, 18K gold-filled barrel and cap is perhaps the rearest Parker 75 pens. It was a very complicated and difficult manufacturing process that resulted in many rejects, and in turn, an excessive manufacturing cost. This gave way to a very short product life. Beside this Parker 75 Rainbow, there is another Parker 61 Rainbow.

Parker 75 Design and Features:
- The Parker 75 featured the distinctive "Sterling CicelΓ©" grid pattern, which was created by cutting a grid into the sterling silver body and then staining the grooves black.
- It had a triangular grip section, similar to the design of the Lamy Safari, which provided a comfortable and ergonomic writing experience.
- Other notable design elements included the gold-plated trim and the iconic Parker arrow clip.

Parker 75 Variants and Materials:
- Beyond the standard Sterling CicelΓ© model, Parker produced the 75 in a variety of other materials and finishes, including:
  - Insignia CicelΓ© (14k gold-filled body)
  - Flighter (brushed stainless steel)
  - Laque (lacquered body)
  - Diamant (14k gold-plated with raised pyramid grid)
  - Vermeil (silver body with gold plating)
  - Rainbow (multiple colours) Parker Regency

Parker 75 Limited Editions:
- Parker released several highly collectible limited edition versions of the 75, such as:
  - Spanish Treasure Fleet (made with silver from sunken Spanish galleons)
  - Bicentennial (with wood from Independence Hall)
  - RMS Queen Elizabeth II (with brass hardware from the sunken ocean liner)

Popularity and Collectibility:
- The Parker 75 has remained immensely popular with fountain pen enthusiasts and collectors due to its timeless design, quality construction, and interesting variants.
- Well-preserved examples, especially the limited editions, can command high prices on the secondary market.
