Montblanc 1266 sterling silver pen
I am trying to build a small collection of vintage Montblanc fountain pen. have just found a MONTBLANC 1266 ー Sterling silver 925刻印 18K 750 nib fountain pen 万年筆.
In the 1970s, Montblanc's four-digit model number was reserved for all-metal models. This shaft is a model called 1266 in sterling silver. By the way, there is also a model called 126 where only the cap is sterling silver. It seems that it was listed as Meisterstuck in the catalog, but unlike the 1960s model, there is no MEISTERSTUCK stamp on the body.
There is
a metal fitting inside the cap that functions when the cap is posted, and
perhaps because of the slanted design, the stability when the cap is posted is
outstanding. There are four 925 stamps in total. The nib appears to be
rhodium-plated in 18-karat gold. I think it's relatively soft.
The pen is in need of a thorough cleaning…
